Hello I am Alice May
I was a GP practice manager for twenty and juggled this, relatively successfully, with raising my family. It was a fairly stressful lifestyle but I was coping, until the day I came home from work to find that our house was literally in the process of falling down.
Understandably, life suddenly became more complicated and I was forced to accept that my work/life balance had to change.
I am now an award-winning author, having written 3 novels, the House That Sat Down Trilogy, humorous works of fiction inspired by what happened and I have more novels due for publication in the near future.
I am also an artist and sell colourful original canvases, prints and cards.
In addition to this, I have a thriving schedule of speaking engagements at local clubs and groups where I deliver a number of inspirational presentations.
I am a huge advocate of the importance of building resilience through self-care in both the work and home environment, and I was delighted to become the chairperson of the New Forest group of the Successful Women in Business Development Network (SWIB) when it launched in September 2018.
